Buchanan County Health Center (BCHC) is a county owned healthcare organization established in 1967. BCHC is located in Independence, Iowa providing services to a population of over 20,000 residents in Buchanan County. BCHC has 25 acute care beds, 39 long-term care beds, an independent living apartment complex and an Emergency Department that serves over 5,600 patient visits annually. BCHC also offers a large number of specialty satellite services to serve the needs of our patients’ locally.
Set in a rural community, along route to Dubuque, Cedar Rapids, and Waterloo, the communities of Buchanan County are active with summer events, strong education systems, and safe environment to raise a family and grow.
