Magnet Award for Excellence in Nursing - St. Luke's Hospital has succeeded in achieving Magnet recognition for the second time from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), signifying successful implementation of the national Magnet standards for nursing excellence. U.S. News & World Report names St. Luke's high performing.

UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital is among the nation’s Best Regional Hospitals, according to U.S. News and World Report.  St. Luke’s is ranked third in Iowa and is recognized as one of America’s high-performing hospitals in five specialties in the U.S. News & World Report 2014-15 edition. St. Luke's is the first rehabilitation program in Iowa to receive the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) Inpatient Rehabilitation Stroke Specialty Program accreditation. St. Luke's Brain Injury Program also received accreditation and St. Luke's Inpatient Rehabilitation unit received a three-year accreditation - the twelfth consecutive three-year accreditation for the unit. St. Luke's was designated as one of the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in 2013. We are the only hospital in Eastern Iowa that has earned this distinction 5 times. The award evaluates nearly 3,000 hospitals and recognizes the top 100 that have achieved excellence in patient outcomes, patient safety, treatment standards, patient satisfaction, efficiency and financial stability. UnityPoint Health  "Most Wired" Prioritizes New Technologies to Advance Care Coordination UnityPoint Health was recognized for the third year in a row as one of the nation's "Most Wired Health Systems" by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine. UnityPoint Health received the honor for its adoption of technology designed to improve and coordinate patient care. Top 100 Most Social Media Friendly Hospitals. St. Luke’s was recently named to the list of the nation’s Top 100 Most Social Media Friendly Hospitals. St. Luke’s is included on the 2014 list alongside organizations, such as Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and Rush University Medical Center. The staff at NurseJournal.org evaluated over 800 hospitals. Facebook and Twitter statistics were collected to determine which hospitals were doing the best job of connecting with their patients through social media. St. Luke’s Hospital was named a 2014/2015 Consumer Choice Award by National Research Corporation, as announced in the Oct. 13 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine. The annual award identifies hospitals across the United States that health care consumers choose as having the highest quality and image. The Consumer Choice Award is based on the hospital that ranks #1 in the following metrics from National Research Corporation's Market Insights study: Best Overall Quality, Best Image/Reputation, Best Doctors and Best Nurses. In 2014, St. Luke's Hospital was named to the Becker's Hospital Review 100 Great Hospitals in America, a compilation of some of the most prominent, forward-thinking and focused healthcare facilities2 in the nation. In addition, St. Luke's was named to the Becker's Hospital Review's list of 100 Hospitals With Great Heart Programs, which recognizes hospitals that have some of the most well-respected heart programs in the country. Best in the Corridor - In 2014, St. Luke's Hospital was also named as the Best Hospital in the Corridor by the Corridor Business Journal.  Breast Cancer Accreditation - St. Luke's Hospital has been granted a three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.  Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.Certified Quality Breast Center - St. Luke's Hospital Breast and Bone Health has recently been recognized as a Certified Quality Breast Center in the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers Program™. This distinguished honor represents a commitment by this breast center to provide the highest level of quality breast health care to patients in their community. Cancer Program Accreditation- The cancer program at St. Luke's Hospital earned a three-year approval with commendation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. Established in 1922 by the American College of Surgeons, the Commission on Cancer is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival rates and quality of life for cancer patients through standard-setting, prevention, research, education and the monitoring of comprehensive, quality care.

Cancer Care Outstanding Achievement Award - The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons granted St. Luke's Cancer Care the Outstanding Achievement Award as a result of surveys performed during 2010. St. Luke's is one of a select group of 90 currently accredited and newly accredited cancer programs across the United States.  CEO Cancer Gold Standard™ accreditation, recognizing St. Luke's extraordinary commitment to the health of our employees and their families. The CEO Cancer Gold Standard™ calls for companies to evaluate their health benefits and corporate culture and take extensive, concrete actions in five key areas of health and wellness to fight cancer in the workplace. Chest Pain Accreditation - St. Luke's received Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC), an international organization dedicated to eliminating heart disease as the number one cause of death worldwide. IRPE Award - St. Luke's received a gold Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence (IRPE) award in 2010, which recognizes organizations that have completed a strenuous review and evaluation of their leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, human resource focus, process management and results. Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)- Certification is awarded JCAHO, which evaluates and accredits nearly 17,000 health-care organizations and programs in the United States. St. Luke's met all of the standards in all areas of evaluation. JCAHO has also accredited St. Luke's Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Home Medical Equipment & Palliative Care .St. Luke's has earned the Gold Seal of Approval for Disease-Specific Care Certification from The Joint Commission for its heart failure, palliative care and hip and knee joint replacement programs. St. Luke's has also been re-certified as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission People's Choice Award

Each year, the National Research Corporation (NRC) publicly recognizes the nation's top hospitals with their prestigious Consumer Choice Award. For the past seven years, St. Luke's was identified as a hospital that "healthcare consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image. "Beacon Award - The Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence is an award given by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and specifically designated to recognize the nation's top hospital critical care units. Critical care units that receive the Beacon Award will have exhibited high quality standards, exceptional care of patients and their families and healthy work environments. Heart & Stroke Advanced Certification in Heart Failure - St. Luke's Hospital received advanced certification in Heart Failure from the Joint Commission and the American Heart Association. St. Luke's is the only hospital in Iowa with this certification.

Primary Stroke Center - St. Luke's Hospital is certified as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission, the American Stroke Association and the American Heart Association.

Top 100 Heart Hospital - St. Luke's Hospital was named one of the nation's Top 100 Heart Hospitals in 2004, 2007 and 2008. This means heart patients at St. Luke's have fewer complications, better outcomes and higher survival rates. Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care - St. Luke's was selected by Blue Cross Blue Shield for demonstrating a commitment to quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for cardiac patients. Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Program Certification - St. Luke's Cardiac Rehab program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation which recognizes outstanding programs that follow best practices in patient care and program management. Get With the Guidelines Award - In 2013, St. Luke's received the Get With The Guidelines - Heart Failure Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association, with recognition for at least 24 months of 85% or higher adherence on all achievement measures for heart failure and stroke.  St. Luke's also received the Silver Achievement for Mission: Lifeline for consistently applying the latest scientific treatment guidelines for in-hospital cardiac resuscitation. Top Heart Hospital - American College of Cardiology Platinum Performance Achievement Award - St. Luke's received the American College of Cardiology Foundation's NCDR ACTION Registry-GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2012.   Blue Distinction Center for Spine and Hip & Knee Replacement Surgeries - St. Luke's was selected by Wellmark for demonstrating a commitment to quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for spine surgery and hip and knee replacement patients.

Premium Total Joint Specialty Center - St. Luke's Hospital is proud to be selected as a UnitedHealth Premium Total Joint Specialty Center. UnitedHealthCare evaluated our associates, services and procedures using specific quality criteria and guidelines based on nationally recognized standards and expert advice.  Family Centered Care- St. Luke's Women's and Children's Center is the first birth care center in the nation to receive the national award for outstanding Family Centered Maternity Care. Family Centered Maternity Care is an approach to providing care for women and their families that integrates pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and infant care into the continuum of the family life as normal, healthy life events.

First NICU Family Support Site in Iowa- The March of Dimes has selected St. Luke's NICU as Iowa's first and only site to house a new program called March of Dimes NICU Family Support. The project's purpose is to provide information and emotional support to families of critically ill newborns being cared for in a neonatal intensive care unit.
