The pay for this position is based on experience with the minimum at $11.48 an hour. This position is not full or part time. This person will work "as needed/, filling in for staff.
This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by supporting the department with general clerical office duties, typing, filing, preparing materials, etc. requiring good knowledge of hospital programs, policies and procedures.
Job/Position Specific Duties
Performs secretarial duties for the department.
Greets and directs customers, patients, physicians, community leaders, trustees, general public, staff and visitors.
Answers phones and directs calls to the appropriate area/individual.
Schedules meetings and appointments.
Types reports, minutes, various documents from copy or rough draft.
Position Specific Job Duties/Essential Functions
Reviews report and enters required data for MQSA letters
Completes Mobile scheduling/paperwork
Pulling and verifying orders
Completing paperwork for the following days schedule
Completing registration paperwork
Scheduling patients for call-back exams

Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Proficient in operation of computer, calculator, filing systems, copy/fax machines and telephone system.

One or more years of secretarial experience reporting to a management level person required.
High school diploma or equivalent required with post high school secretarial training preferred.
